While I have had a Twitter account since 2017, I have not used Twitter at all since 2018 (until this class), mostly because I grew bored of the app. During this class, I primarily have been interacting with education news accounts more than individual educators. This is primarily because I prefer using Twitter to accumulate and read news articles about education, rather than talking to people. However, talking to individual educators has been useful in getting a better understanding of teacher experiences though. Twitter might be helpful in my future career by allowing me to get a better understanding on how the average concerns or thoughts of other educators

The digital divide can negatively impact students that do not have the same level of internet/technology access as some of their peers. Some cause of the digital divide can be: socioeconomic status (low income families may have less access to technology) or a lack of internet in their area. Wherever I teach, I may have a classroom with students that do not have the same access to technology as their peers. To still be an effective teacher, I should refrain from assigning work that requires such technology if not all students have access to the technology required, while also making time for teaching the students without access to technology how to utilize such technology for the future.

One of the software tools that I would like to implement into my class is probably Google Classroom. It's similar to Canvas in the fact that it allows teachers to easily create classrooms, distribute assignments, give grades, and communicate with students. I used Google Classroom a lot during quarantine my senior year of high school, and I felt like it was a lot easier to navigate as a student, especially compared to Canvas. With my use of Google Classroom, I would also likely promote the use of Google Drive and the the Google programs that come with it (Doc, Slides, ect.), because not only would it be more efficient with Google Classroom, but the Google programs are free and more easy to use than their Microsoft counterparts.
