For this post I decided to use old my high school's website: Fort Campbell High School. The high school didn't provide any webpages for specific classes, but it did provide general information for students and parents that they could obtain without any log-in privileges. This includes: the building layout with what classrooms are where, the bell schedule, the calendar for school events, the school handbook, and the curriculum. I remember from my time there that the teachers do typically maintain class websites, but those do require student log-in info.
As a teacher, I intend to use technology to keep myself organized and not get sidetracked while working. A couple of productivity tools that I've found to be useful are Google Drive and FocuMe. Google Drive is essentially the Google equivalent of Microsoft Office, but I find Google's programs more streamlined and overall easier to use. It also makes it much easier to share documents with other people. FocusMe is a management app that closes other apps while I work so that I do not get distracted and can get my work done.
My overall experience with PB Works was positive, but I do think that it's web design made it a little clunky to use. While working with my group we had some trouble figuring out how to organize, delete, and rename files, but that very well could have just been a communication error. Besides that minor complaint, I thought PB Works was an interesting way to display and share information. I do not know if I would have my own students use it at the moment, as I my self am of course still lack experience with it, but I am open to learning more about the platform and perhaps incorporating it into my class.
