Blog Post 10

I want to use surveys in my class to gauge class satisfaction and whether my students are engaged with my lessons. As a teacher, my goal is to make sure that the way that I teach my class both informative and easy to follow. Surveys are one of the best ways to better tailor my class to my students' needs. I would also like surveys to check in on my students and make sure that they are doing well, and given my preference for teaching high school level students, mental health checks like that are especially important throughout the year as classes get more stressful.

I thought that it was interesting reading how much people enjoyed maintaining their blogs. Given the amount of control someone has in how their blog looks, I definitely can see why maintaining a blog is appealing to some people. I think if I were maintaining a blog that I was a little more interested in I would enjoy blogging quite a bit more. As my first time seriously maintaining a blog, I had a good time posting on this blog.

I think that I need to focus on learning how to use Excel next. I know a few of the capabilities of Excel from what we've been shown in class, but I haven't retained that information as much I need to. Knowing how to use spreadsheet tools like Excel would not only be helpful - if not required haha - for the final project, but would also be very helpful when calculating grades, or comparing grades from different years to see if I am teaching my classes effectively. As well as paying attention in class, I plan on learning from YouTube tutorials so that I remember the functions that I will be most likely to need.
